Requirements
Qualifications
- 21 years of age for a Police Officer
- 18 years of age for a Police Service Technician
- Honorable discharge from a military service as stipulated on a DD214, if applicable.
- A valid drivers license with a good driving record.
- No guilty pleas or felony convictions. This also applies to violations of any federal/state laws relating to force, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled substances.
- Citizen of the United States.
Required Testing
- Running Test (1.5 miles within 15 minutes or less)
- Entry Testing (such as Reading Test, Entry Level Police Test, Problem Solving Assessments)
- Physical Agility Test
- Background Review/Assessment
- Psychological Assessment
- Medical Assessment
When applicants are scheduled for testing, written notice will be provided advising the candidate of their particular test dates. Candidates are not selected on a first come first serve basis. Police Recruit classes will be filled as needed based on the candidates’ performance during testing.

Please note: While you must be 21 years of age to become a commissioned police officer, there is no maximum age limit.
